How We Got Here
From 2020 to 2022, the City of Joliet led a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study to evaluate grade separation options.
After technical analysis and public input, the Laraway Road overpass was identified as the preferred alternative. The PEL study established the project’s Purpose and Need, allowing it to move forward into this engineering design phase.
